Renovations completed at Hodges Hall modernized the facility and provided students with state-of-the-art learning and testing spaces. Hodges Hall serves as the home to West Virginia University’s Offices of Undergraduate Studies, Women’s & Gender Studies, Native American Studies, and the World Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics department. The 90,000GSF historic building has been given new life and will continue to serve the campus for years to come.
Hodges Hall provides faculty with a large testing center containing 200 hardwired PCs and a separate 8-seat Quiet Room. The upgraded University Testing Center offers flexibility for test takers to take online exams outside the classroom. Students can choose which workstation they prefer for testing through a virtual floor plan, and proctors are able to block out time for their entire class or allow students to come and go throughout a designated period.
On the upper floors of the building, students will have access to advising assistance, as well as the LGBTQ+ Center. Additionally, the World Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics department has dedicated space for tutoring on level 3.
Each department within Hodges Hall has its own office suite allowing for ongoing coordination. A dedicated bull-pen style office area is available for graduate assistants. The fifth level of the building provides students with a private quiet space, alongside several private meeting rooms.
The building features a multitude of classroom types, including general education, active learning, and tiered learning. Additionally, several computer labs are available for English & Statistics classes. Several conference rooms are available throughout the building, for both student and faculty use.
