Renovations to the existing Sinclair Hall at SUNY Farmingdale will provide students with upgraded classrooms and several experiential laboratory spaces. The original building was constructed in the 1970s and was originally used as a dining facility, due to this the interior layout of the facility will be completely reimagined to further align with academic study.

To support students studying Criminal Justice, a Mock Courtroom, Forensic Science Lab, Mock Crime Scene Lab, and a Complex Social Interaction Lab will also be upgraded throughout the renovations. The Forensics & Mock Crime Scene lab are adjoining and have an adjacent photo lab for hands-on experience.

Classrooms in a variety of sizes will be available in the newly renovated space, in addition to an Active Learning Classroom and several computer labs also in a variety of sizes. Private group study rooms and conference rooms are also available for use.

All classrooms & laboratories can be controlled via a centralized control system at the front of each room, allowing instructors to customize the overall learning experience. Digital displays allow for personal device connection via HDMI in all classrooms, conference rooms, and study areas. An Assisted Listening System will be incorporated into the infrastructure of all instructional rooms in the building in addition to several other accessibility initiatives.
