Technology Master Plan + Classroom Upgrades

BrightTree Studios provided strategic technology planning services to California University of Pennsylvania to identify classrooms needing modernization and upgrades. After the planning process was completed, BrightTree Studios designed the audiovisual systems and upgrades for 80 classrooms grouped into two basic types: Type A and Type B.

Type A Classrooms : Sixty-eight of the classrooms are “basic” Type A rooms with high definition projection, electric screens, touchpanel control, speakers, microphones, annotation, and multiple sources.

Type B Classrooms : 12 are “intermediate” classrooms with dual high definition projectors, dual high definition projection screens, two 50” LCD confidence monitors, Crestron Digital Media, Crestron control System, quad-view processor, Cisco C60 videoconferencing, multiple microphones, MediaSite classroom recording and video streaming, annotation, and multiple sources. What distinguishes a Type B classroom is an additional 4” touchpanel installed for every seat. While slight, the difference in classrooms creates two very unique experiences and learning environments. Once students arrive in a Type B Classroom, they will enter their names on the touchpanel, via a virtual keypad, which will transfer their names onto a LED screen display in front of their seat. Throughout the class, the professor will be able to ask questions to the class and students will be able to anonymously respond via A, B, C, D, or E buttons on the touchpanel providing the professor with real time polling results.
