Alcoa Inc.

Alcoa Inc. wanted an innovation center where representatives can share information about the company, the campus and its unique manufacturing processes with visiting guests from a singular, technology-rich environment. Doing so allows more time to be spent building relationships and exploring new business opportunities for a global leader in lightweight metals technology, engineering and manufacturing.

BrightTree Studios was chosen to develop, design and install the AV Systems for the facility. The highlight of the design includes a twenty-foot long, 5 ½ foot tall interactive video wall. Using this interactive video wall, executives can pull up a map of Alcoa’s campus and “fly through” the buildings, and watch videos of manufacturing-at-work without leaving the comforts of the center. The video wall has 32 touch points allowing multiple users to interact and explore the custom content generated by the company.

Surround sound, proximity sensing, environmental controls, conferencing capabilities and tablet integration are also an important part of the project’s design.

In addition to The Innovation Center, BrightTree Studios brought AV technology to the company’s cafeteria by outfitting the space with:

•  Three ceiling-recessed electric projection screens
•  A 70” LED presenter screen
•  Ten ceiling microphones
•  Two wireless microphones
•  14 ceiling-mounted speakers.

Due to its nature, the space can accommodate a large crowd and is now equipped to handle larger events such as a State-of-the-Company address and other corporate-focused forums, as needed.
