Acoustics Consultant

BrightTree Studios is looking for a qualified Acoustics Consultant – Remote in the continental United States who can support our growing client base. You’ll work in conjunction with the Acoustics Discipline Lead and Design Principals from inception through completion of architectural acoustics building design projects to create new and exciting outcomes for our clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Consult on building design projects involving room acoustics, sound isolation, mechanical system noise and vibration, and environmental noise
  • Prepare acoustics technical narratives, recommendations reports, specifications, drawings, details, and cost analyses
  • Conduct acoustical analysis using calculation spreadsheets and modeling software, and perform all engineering tasks
  • Review, interpret, and understand construction documentation across disciplines (architectural, interiors, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil) and collaborate with architects, project teams and internal teammates, coordinating acoustics designs with other building systems
  • Conduct field site visits observing existing acoustics conditions, performing acoustical testing, and observing construction administration 
  • Lead visioning, planning, and programming meetings with architectural clients
  • Take ownership of completeness, quality, accuracy, and timeliness of assigned work
  • Enjoy growing the acoustics discipline through technical leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives with the full support of the BrightTree Studios team

  • Travel required

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • 5+ years acoustics consulting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, acoustics, or a related field
  • Professional certifications (PE, INCE Bd. Cert.)  and industry-relevant training courses a plus
  • Thorough working knowledge and experience specifying acoustics and noise control products, systems, and solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts
  • Ability to collaborate in a virtual team environment and ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Self-motivated with strong judgement, organization and independent problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, EASE, INSUL, CadnaA, or similar design software preferred
