The Foundry is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate learning and collaboration, and houses hardware and software stations, virtual and augmented reality spaces, an Industry 4.0 factory simulator, and a maker space. The facility not only caters to the educational needs of Penn State New Kensington students but also serves as a regional center for teaching and learning related to the technological advances being made throughout several different industries. Alongside students, the greater New Kensington community will have access to tools to upgrade their skill sets to adapt to new technologies, invigorating not only the college campus but also the surrounding community.
