To modernize Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, our team collaborated with the University to redesign and reconfigure classroom and conference room technologies. The goal of the project was to turn the spaces into state-of-the-art, distance learning environments for Stanford’s Graduate School of Business to bridge the gap between students at Stanford’s California campus and its satellite campus in Peking, China.

To achieve this, innovative audiovisual classroom technologies were integrated into the redesigned space. These technologies allow for seamless communication and collaboration, allowing students to connect and learn together. Our designs included automated presenter tracking that corresponds to desk embedded push-to-talk microphones. Several large video displays in each room serve a dual purpose – showcasing lecture materials to students and projecting live streams from other classrooms, enabling professors to view and engage with all students simultaneously.

These classroom technologies seamlessly support collaboration among students that transcends geographical borders, emphasizing the ever-changing, ever-necessary role distance learning will play in a post-COVID world.

Our team’s designs allow Stanford students to have a transformative learning experience, breaking the boundary of geographical distance and consolidating Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
